The ‘Chef of the Year Cook-off 2026’, organized by the Bangladesh Caterers Association (BCA) with the participation of British-Bangladeshi chefs, was held in West London. Fifty-five finalists selected from across the UK participated in this competition, held last Tuesday at Hammersmith and Fulham College. Among them were 11 female chefs.
The theme of this year’s competition was ‘Honoring today’s achievements, inspiring tomorrow’s success’According to the organizers, one of the key objectives of the event is to encourage the new generation to pursue this profession, in addition to showcasing the skills and creativity of the culinary artists.
BCA President Oli Khan MBE stated that the ‘Chef of the Year Cook-off’ is not merely a competition but a vital platform for the future generation of the culinary arts. He particularly welcomed the participation of female chefs.
BCA Awards Convener Atiq Rahman stated that the quality of the competition is improving every year. He noted that selecting the finalists from among hundreds of applications was a challenging process. The Head of the Hospitality Department at Hammersmith & Fulham College stated that they are delighted to welcome the BCA chefs to the college. He also noted that such events play a significant role in nurturing talent and developing professional skills
