Under the theme “Honouring today’s achievements, inspiring future success,” the Bangladesh Caterers Association (BCA) has selected 48 restaurants for awards in 2026, following a rigorous process involving hundreds of applications and a competition across Britain. The awards will be presented to the winners at the 19th edition of the BCA on November 1, 2026, at the five-star Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel in London.
BCA leaders made this announcement during a press conference at the Neijzen Restaurant at 290 North Street, Romford, on the evening of October 8, 2026. However, the names of the nominees from the respective regions were not disclosed. Established by British-Bangladeshi entrepreneurs in 1960, this organization promotes Bangladesh in Britain and has been presenting awards to high achievers in the curry industry for the past 19 years. As in previous years, celebrities from Britain and abroad will attend this awards ceremony.
At the press conference, BCA leaders announced that the proceedings for the ‘Bangladesh Caterers Association (BCA) Awards 2026’ have reached an exciting stage, as the judging process for the prestigious ‘Restaurant of the Year’ category has been finalized.From among hundreds of applications received from restaurants across the UK, the BCA has meticulously selected 48 restaurants representing 12 regions.
The judges have concluded the selection process by considering various factors, including food quality, service, hospitality, presentation, consistency, innovation, and the overall customer experience. Based on the scores awarded by the judges, 12 restaurants have been selected as the best from 12 regions. The BCA leaders involved in this selection process included President Oli Khan (MBE), Atik Rahman (BEM) — Awards Convener, Abdul Subhan — Head of the ‘Restaurant of the Year’ Committee, BCA Secretary Tipu Rahman, Chief Treasurer M Faizul Haque, and Press and Publication Secretary Naz Islam.
The panel of judges included Samson Sohel (representing Cobra Beer), Sandeep Dewan (representing Kingfisher Beer), Sabrina Hossain (CEO, NTV Europe), Hafiz Alam Baksh (CEO, ATN Bangla UK), and M. M. Kamal Yakub (outgoing President).
BCA President Oli Khan MBE said, “We are delighted by the unprecedented response to this year’s ‘Restaurant of the Year’ category. Forty-eight restaurants from 12 regions have been carefully selected from hundreds of applications received across the UK. This reflects the exceptional quality, dedication, and diversity of our industry. Atik Rahman BEM, Convener of the BCA Awards, said, “The quality of the applications received this year was exceptionally high, making the process of selecting 48 restaurants from hundreds of entries quite challenging. These 48 selected restaurants now represent 12 regions across the UK, and our panel of judges will evaluate them through a fair and rigorous process.” The twelve restaurants to be considered for final recognition at the ‘BCA Awards 2026’ will be determined based on the scores awarded by the judges.
